CALLING ALL BOOKWORMS !!!
Bookworm is a program sponsored by the PTA whereby children can author and illustrate their very own books and submit them to the Bookworm co-chairs for editing and binding! The books then become part of the Elizabeth Haddon library and children are able to check them out, just like any library book! At the end of their 5th grade year, the children are presented with all of the books they’ve written throughout the years. As a writing celebration, only children that have written books this year will be invited to a special assembly in the APR. The assembly is scheduled for Friday June 4th at 1:45pm. Our special guest will be llustrator, John O’Brien.
The last day to submit a bookworm document has been extended to April 5 for submissions to be typed . (This includes emailing files) and 4/23 for completed illustrations.
Interested students can pick up a bookworm instructional sheet located at the bookworm display in the library, or access the forms you need here:
Once you have written your masterpiece, you or your parents can email it to the bookworm co-chairs listed below.
You can also drop a written copy in the bookworm box in case you would rather hand write your story …the Bookworm Moms will take care of getting it typed.
Parents: the bookworm committee is looking for volunteers to help with the book-binding process. No prior experience needed!
If you miss the above deadlines…don’t worry ; any documents that are submitted after the dates will be included in next year’s Bookworm program.
